Many municipalities accept waste and recyclables at their recycling centre only from their own population, because they pay for the disposal. The check relies on stickers, plastic cards or a look at the address on an identity card. Stickers get passed on, cards get lost, and looking at the ID shows staff more than they need to know.

Once: getting the pass
- Request the passAt the counter or on your online portal. The municipality compares the residence with its register of residents. Once the e-ID is available, the person identifies themselves with it.

Every visit: at the entrance
- Scan the QR code at the entranceStaff start the check in the console, and the tablet shows a QR code. The resident scans it with the swiyu Wallet.
- ShareThe wallet shows what is requested: “Resident in” and the validity. One tap to share.
- Drive inThe tablet shows “Valid”. Someone who has moved away has a revoked pass, and the tablet shows that.

The pass holds more details than the entrance needs. The check requests only two of them, and the resident shares them personally.
