The resident parking permit in the wallet.

Once approved, the permit goes straight to the phone. It is checked on the street by number plate, even when nobody is near the car. Nothing behind the windscreen, and nothing in the post.

Starting point

Today: a form, a payment, a permit in the post.

For a parking permit, you fill in a form, attach a copy of the vehicle registration and wait for the permit to arrive in the post. If you change car or move, it all starts again, and the old permit often stays in circulation. Parking control checks by eye whether it is genuine and still valid.

A parking permit is a special case: what is checked is a parked car, usually with no keeper beside it. But a check through the wallet always needs the person's consent. So this process separates the application from the control: for the application, the person identifies themselves with the e-ID from the wallet once it is available, and the control runs by number plate.

Process

With VeriGate

For the resident

  1. Submit the applicationAt the counter or on your online portal. The municipality compares the residence with its register of residents. Once the e-ID is available, the person identifies themselves with it. Today, a member of staff starts the process in the console; starting by the person themselves is planned.
  2. Scan the QR codeAfter approval, a link or QR code arrives. One scan, and the permit is in the wallet, with zone, number plate and validity.
  3. ParkNothing to put behind the windscreen. The permit in the wallet is the proof, for example if there is a question at the counter.

For the administration

  1. Approve the applicationWith the e-ID, the details are verified, not typed in. No copies, no follow-up questions.
  2. Issue the permitIn the console or directly from the specialist application, with zone, number plate and expiry date. Your municipality adds the number plate to the control list in your parking system.
  3. Check and revokeParking control checks the number plate against the control list. If someone moves away, the permit is revoked and the number plate removed.
Where the wallet helps, and where it does not

The e-ID for the application. The number plate for the control.

Every check through the wallet needs the person's consent. That protects their data, and it is exactly why it does not suit checking a parked car.

For the application: with the e-ID from the wallet

The person is there and shares

Once the e-ID is available, the applicant identifies themselves with it. The municipality takes over the verified name and date of birth instead of typing them in, and issues the permit.

On the street: by number plate

Nobody needs to be there

Parking control compares the number plate with the list of valid permits. If a permit is revoked, its number plate is also removed from the list.

Benefits

What changes

Less work at the counter

The permit arrives without paper or postage, and nothing needs sending back after a change.

Verified details

Once the e-ID is available, the details come verified from it. No copies, no typing errors.

Data stays in Switzerland

Your residents' details are processed only in Switzerland.

What it takes

To start

  • Your municipality's registration with swiyu, the federal trust infrastructure. We help you with this.
  • Your coat of arms or logo, and the zones the permits apply to.
  • One or two members of staff to issue permits in the console.
  • For the control: a list of number plates in your parking system, as many municipalities already keep.
